Matters Arising

  1. Verges – a letter had been received by the PC concerning verges in the village.  Cllr Stewart mentioned the availability of markers from NCC.  The PC considered a variety of views on the subject.
  2. Refurbishment of street signs – Mr Neale reported that many of the street signs were fitted to rotten back boards and posts. NSDC Clerk of Works is due to make a site visit to assess the situation.
  3. Clerk’s Salary – A different Clerk’s contract appears to be in general use.  Mrs Curry agreed to investigate this and its implications for the Clerk’s salary.
  4. The repair has been completed to the slab at the end of Sikey Lane.
  5. A Playing Field Committee has been formally established and is about to meet.
  6. FP8 – the Area Rights of Way Officer notes the problems with the handrail over the bridge at this point.  He hopes to deal with this and plans to widen the bridge when resources allow.
  7. Summer Fete – A meeting of interested parties has not yet taken place.

County/District Councillors

Cllr Stewart had nothing to report.

Cator Hall

Work on the toilets is about to commence.  It will be completed in stages so that the Hall can remain in use.  The roof needs repairs and investigations are taking place into the best way to proceed.  Mr Brown reported that bookings for the Hall are good.
